How to set Internet Explorer’s settings to defaults

The following steps will reset some of the options in Internet Explorer to those as supplied by Microsoft. Please only carry out these instructions if authorised to do so by your network administrator.


1) Following the example above, click on the Tools menu, then Internet Options. Click the tab at the top labelled Security. You should then see the following box appear…


2) Ensure Internet is selected (as in the picture), and click Default Level, this may be unavailable, if so do not worry. Repeat this step for Local intranet, Trusted sites and Restricted sites.

3) Click the tab at the top labelled Advanced. You should then see the box pictured above appear…
Click Restore Defaults, then Apply then OK.
